Wear Clean Draws  (because there’s 5 million ways to kill a ceo)

nor’easter

no workee today because there’s a nor’easter pummeling the coast. i’m a tool, so i’ve been working, though kinda dawdling — including finally succumbing to twitter, which would be because i’m involved in an seo and social media project at work.

i woke up late, didn’t listen to the news very carefully, ran out the door only to find that I couldn’t get beyond the police barricades, flooded out roads, or patches of road where cars littered the road, stalled out. I called my boss’s mobile and left a weird message because, in the midst of it, I realized I’d have to perform a u-turn and go the wrong way on a one-way, so I babbled to myself while forgetting I was leaving a message.

i must have been the only one in our dept who didn’t first check to see if the placed closed down. meanwhile, bored with at home stuff, i decided to go to work b/c i had a document there that I wanted to polish up to turn in tomorrow for a meeting we’re having. oh sure, no one would care that i didn’t finish given the weather. but i’m a tool and overachiever.

it’s likely that there will be no workee tomorrow as well. see, the deal is, there’s so much flooding that most of the roads and bridges and tunnels are flooded out or the water’s so deep that cars end up stalling out blocking the path. i’m guessing another day off tomorrow because high tide which is when it gets even worse than the photos below, is going to be rush hour tonight, rush hour tomorrow morning and rush hour tomorrow evening — and in between it’s supposed to continue to rain and rain and rain. so high tide coinciding with already flooded roads and all during rush hour? i figure they’re shutting down because the city asked them to so as to avoid the car wreckage and general nightmarish conditions when emergency personnel are going to be busy enough.

this is, like, totally better than living in upstate new york where blizzards hardly ever stopped anyone from getting to work.
